Insomnia Wraps Moves from Shopmonkey to MinerOp

Insomnia Wraps is one of the top vehicle wrap, paint protection film, window tint and ceramic coating shops in North Atlanta, located in Alpharetta, Georgia. MinerOp worked through the delicate move in partnership with Insomnia Wraps, making sure nothing the shop relied on from their current day-to-day operations went missing.

Why They Switched

Insomnia Wraps learned about MinerOp from another automotive shop that was using it. They quickly discovered that the MinerOp platform offered a seamless, integrated experience for their website, customer list, phone and text, and payments, all in one place. With their website and phone hosted by MinerOp, the CRM integration with website and phone leads allowed them to react to customer inquiries more easily and stay on top of the communication to close the business. Shopmonkey is a well-known shop management platform, and for Insomnia Wraps the move was about bringing everything under one roof.

The question was simple: could they move everything over without losing anything they used every day, and without stopping work to do it?

How We Worked Together

Moving Their Shopmonkey Data

Insomnia Wraps used the MinerOp migration service to seamlessly move all of their existing Shopmonkey data into MinerOp: their customers, vehicles, estimates and invoices. We handled the move for them, and Shopmonkey kept running as normal until the day they switched.

Walking Through Every Workflow

Data is only half of a switch. The other half is how the shop works. Alongside the move, we went through every Shopmonkey workflow the shop used, screen by screen, so that nothing they relied on would go missing. Then we built what was needed:

  • Vehicle records on each customer, so every car the shop has worked on sits with its owner.
  • Estimates with labor and parts broken out. Insomnia Wraps asked for the same breakdown on invoices too, and we shipped it.
  • Estimates signed and approved online, then turned into an invoice.
  • A branded pay page for their customers.
  • Deposits.
  • A jobs board.
  • Time clocks.
  • Estimates and invoices emailed from their own domain, insomniacarwraps.com, not a generic sender.

Keeping Their Phone Number

The shop’s existing phone number moved to MinerOp Business Phone too. Customers call the same number they always have. Calls ring the team’s softphones in the browser, and texts land on the customer record, next to their vehicles, estimates and invoices.

A Refreshed Website

We also refreshed insomniacarwraps.com. There is a quote form right on the home page, and every request goes straight into the shop’s pipeline in MinerOp.

Where They Are Now

Insomnia Wraps now runs the shop from one system. A quote request from the website, a call to the shop number, a text, an estimate, a signed approval, a deposit and the final invoice all sit on the same customer record. Nothing they relied on in Shopmonkey went missing, and the shop kept working the whole way through.

Working with MinerOp was a seamless experience. The team at MinerOp was completely attentive to all of our questions and concerns and made the cutover experience a non-issue. We look forward to the continued partnership and additional business workflow ideas the team at MinerOp can help us implement and achieve.

Thinking About a Similar Move?

If your shop wants its website, customers, phone and payments in one place, here is what moving to MinerOp looks like:

  • We take stock with you first, so you know what is moving before anything moves.
  • We walk through how you work, screen by screen, so nothing you rely on goes missing.
  • Your customers, vehicles, estimates and invoices come across through the MinerOp migration service.
  • Your phone number can come with you to MinerOp Business Phone.

How the Pricing Compares

Shopmonkey’s published plans range from $215 to $449 a month billed annually ($239 to $499 billed monthly), with 3 to 5 users included. MinerOp plans with the CRM start at $99 a month and include a website built for your business. Every shop is different, so compare what each includes for the way you work.

Questions Shop Owners Ask

Can I move from Shopmonkey to MinerOp?

Yes. Insomnia Wraps did. The MinerOp migration service moves your existing Shopmonkey data into MinerOp for you.

What comes across from Shopmonkey?

Your customers, their vehicles, and your estimates and invoices. We go over what is coming across with you before anything moves.

Do I need to stop taking jobs during the switch?

You should not need to. Shopmonkey keeps working as normal while we set up MinerOp and bring your data across. You keep running the shop and pick the day you switch.

Will I keep my phone number?

In most cases, yes. Your existing business number can be ported to MinerOp Business Phone, as Insomnia Wraps did. Calls ring your team in the browser, and texts land on the customer record.

Who does the work?

We do. We walk through how your shop uses Shopmonkey screen by screen and run the move. Your part is showing us how you work.

Thinking about a move like this?

Tell us about your shop. We will look at how you work today and tell you plainly what moving would involve.
